Performance Office Furnishings is looking to expand its team in Burnaby by bringing on board an practiced Accounting Clerk. This is a full-time position with reliable daytime hours as well as a comprehensive benefits package.
As the Accounting Clerk, you'll be responsible for the accounts payable functions.  this job offer will identify errors or discrepancies and resolve them before processing payable invoices, reconciling all accounts payable, and submitting the journal entries.  We are seeking for an excellent team player with a strong work ethic.

Main Responsibilities:
A) Preparing Payments
   » Review invoices and attach appropriate backing documentation to invoices, seeking approval prior to payment
   » Clarify any questionable invoice items and/or prices
   » Obtain proper information and/or data regarding invoice payments
   » Review and process ocean freight, trucking, US custom duty payments as well as manufacturers invoices
   » Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies
   » Monthly commission reports in a time critical manner
   » Check all sales invoices before send to our customers
B) Administrative Tasks
   » Maintain the organization of documents using the filing system and making improvements to the process on an continuing basis
   » All other general and administrative tasks that may be required
Soft expertise
   » Able to work independently and as part of a team
   » High comfort level in dealing with internal and external clients including: sales, clients and third-party administrators
   » Solid verbal and written communication expertise
   » 2 + years of Accounts Payable practice
   » High School diploma required, college courses in accounting preferred
   » Detail orientated, professional attitude, reliable
   » Possess strong organization and time management expertise
   » Strong computer expertise including Microsoft Excel and Outlook
   » expertise of Simply Accounting an asset
