As the Land and Resource Specialist you will be representing BCTS on various working groups within the Great Bear Rainforest made up of First Nations, Licensees and Environmental Groups. These include Joint Solutions Project, Operational Implementation Committee and Coast Forest Conservation Initiative. As part of these working groups you will be helping lead the implementation, review and monitoring of the GBRO. You will also be the critical bridge of communication between Operation Staff and the high level planningconnected with the GBRO.
You will be responsible for leading the Spatial Landscape Reserve Design under the GBRO with the support of GIS and OperationalStaff. This involves co-locating multiple landbase values and First Nations interests, with consideration for ecological representation, as well as the management of current, and recruitment of future Old Growth.
Qualifications for this function include:

· Registered, or immediately eligible for registration, as a fully licensed Registered Professional Forester (RPF) with the Association of BC Forest Professionals (ABCFP) and three years (gained within the last five) of practice in planningoperational forestry.
· practice in project management.
· Significant practice managing multiple projects or leading a component (e.g., sub-project) of a major project or regional initiative.
· practice in managing collaborative project teams.
· practice with conflict and dispute resolution principles and practices.
· Valid B.C. driver’s license.
