The Engineering, Parks and Environment department is seeking a regular full time Cemetery Services Coordinator to join their team.

In this job offer you will coordinate the day to day operations of the City of North Vancouver Cemetery; ensuring compliance with established legislation and bylaws and providing a variety of services in support of cemetery operations.  This includes meeting with families and other representatives to discuss interment arrangements, processing the purchase of lots, interments and markers, tracking payments from third parties, issuing permits for burial, grave markers and gardens and providing information and assistance to a variety of contacts.  You will coordinate with the cemetery caretaker on specific requirements regarding interments, make visits to the cemetery to determine availcapability of lots and ensure that graves and markers are in compliance with bylaw requirements.  You will also develop and maintain records related to cemetery operations and recommend revised policies and procedures and new services as well as perform a variety of miscellaneous clerical tasks.

You will have considerable related work practice, preferably in municipal government, supplemented by significant post-secondary courses or an equivalent combination of training and practice.  You will have strong interpersonal expertise with the capability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, excellent written and verbal communication expertise and strong time management abilities.  The capability to work under pressure and meet deadlines is essential.  Additionally, you will have a keyboarding speed of 50 wpm and proficiency in Microsoft Office. A valid BC Class 5 driver’s license is also required.

Shortlisted candidates may be required to complete standardized tests or exercises to demonstrate their applicable expertise and expertise.

income :           
$28.55 – 33.60 per hour
(Pay grade 18 – January 2019 rates)

Hours of Work:
The City of North Vancouver currently works on a compressed work schedule of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00p.m., Monday to Friday, with one scheduled day off (Monday or Friday) approximately each three-week scheduling cycle.
