Network Administrator

Overview

Hudson Valley Credit Union is currently recruiting for a Network Administrator. The prosperouscandidate will provide hardware and software support to company-wide technology users. They will assist in the installation, support, repair and maintenance of HVCU communications network in order to ensure continuity of the business. They will design, develop, modify, document, and implement short- and long-term solutions to information technology needs through new and existing applications, systems architecture, network systems and applications infrastructure.

Responsibilities

   » Employ the use of system analysis techniques and procedures including consultation with vendors and users, to determine hardware, software or system functional specifications.
   » Provide technical skills in the management of the credit union's private network; tests and analyzes network facilities, including network control software, routers, switches, lines, modems, adapters and servers.
   » Administer the operation of all LAN/WAN related network services according to company policies and procedures. Evaluate and recommend networking products and software upgrades.
   » Coordinate and implement network software and hardware upgrades and expedite the application of necessary software patches.
   » Monitor data traffic and control network resource performance to ensure high-quality transmission.
   » Develop and test plans to ensure the continuity of critical business functions and minimize information loss in the event of a disaster.
   » Perform critical problem diagnosis and implement resolutions. Perform periodic system reviews to evaluate current efficiencies and anticipate future capacity needs (participate in projecting budget).
   » Provide next-tier support for Help Desk and Desktop Support Specialists, as needed.
   » Assist in Information Technology operations and provide off-hour support as needed.
   » Act as a liaison between Credit Union staff and the AVP of Information Technology Systems.
   » Act as subject matter expert in Credit Union teams.
   » Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required and recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and demonstrate attained expertise. Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises. Perform additional tasks and special projects as assigned.
   » Embrace and apply HVCU's guiding principles to all activities and responsibilities. This includes the Credit Union's Mission, Vision, Core Values, Employee and Member Value Propositions, Sales and Service Model, and commitment to Lean Six Sigma practices. Support the Credit Union's initiatives by demonstrating teamwork and professionalism.
   » Responsible for regular and predictable attendance including punctuality.

Qualifications

   » Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or Computer Science, or at least 2 years equivalent practice for each undergraduate year not completed is required
   » Industry recognized certification (MCSA, MCSE, CCNA, CCNP, Network+, A+, GIAC, Network + etc) is preferred
   » Minimum 6 Years practice in a wintel/cisco shop is required
