Job Opportunity: Nurse-RN, ACT:Job description:
Nurse-RN, ACTPOSITION OVERVIEWESSENTIAL tasks AND RESPONSIBILITIES» Conduct metabolic monitoring (tracking blood pressure, weight, and body mass index) for participants. » Obtain and ensure processing of lab work for patients unable to have lab work done elsewhere in the community. » Obtain lab results when participants have labs drawn by outside providers. » Administer depot injections to patients on - site and in the community. » Coordinate clozapine monitoring (obtaining lab results, reviewing them, and faxing prescriptions as needed. » Assess responses to medications and symptoms. » Assess for medication side effects and educate participants on how to manage side effects. » Work with participants and families to collaboratively address medication issues. » Coordinate care for medical issues, including providing referrals to community medical providers, scheduling appointments, and liaising with medical providers to obtain records. » Conduct quarterly health screenings. » Provide wellness counseling and education covering issues including healthy eating habits, exercise and fitness, stress management, birth control, and safer sex. » Provide basic first aid and managing medical emergencies and crisis situations appropriately. EDUCATION and LICENSURE » Requires an AAS degree and at least one year of practice. » Requires NYS professional certification as a Registered Nurse (RN). ABOUT NORTHERN RIVERSSkills:
