Job Summary
The Advancement agent, Alumni Relations and Regional Programs is responsible for developing and managing a variety of alumni programs, specifically chapter programs and activities for Rensselaer alumni, parents, and friends. These activities include chapter leadership abilities and volunteer committee development and succession planning, development of regional alumni events, and event-planning and coordination with IA staff. The Advancement agent will maintain a portfolio of prospects at the Annual Giving level for cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.

Minimum Qualifications
   » Bachelor's Degree
   » Minimum of 3 years of practice in relationship management, to include development and cultivation of individuals, fundraising, or a related field.
   » Valid driver's license
   » A significant combination of education and directly-related professional practice may be substituted for a degree.

Preferred Qualifications
   » Development or fundraising practice in higher education. 

Minimum Knowledge, expertise, and Abilities
   » Demonstrated capability to cultivate, solicit and steward donor prospects
   » capability to develop and maintain effective relations with donors, including knowledge donor motivation, and developing and sustaining donor commitment
   » Demonstrated capability to effectively facilitate discussions and effectively engage in public speaking
   » Demonstrated capability to promotes and implement processes to build effective donor relationships
   » Demonstrated capability to collaborate with others including own team/department, others across the organization and externally where appropriate
   » capability to work effectively individually and as a group/ team member exploring options, making decisions and seeking support when appropriate
   » Demonstrated capability to develop and contribute to the use of digitally integrated fundraising activities, effectively use analytics and recognize trends and their potential impacts
   » Demonstrated capability to plan and implement programs, projects and/or events including identifying specific requirements and developing project plans
   » capability to work with colleagues and portfolio leadership abilities to implement change initiatives that enhances the donor practice
   » Demonstrated capability to collect, analyze and manage significant information, including prospect research
   » capability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals and objectives.
   » capability to multi-task, handle multiple projects and deadlines
   » Proficiency with Microsoft Office or equivalent
   » capability to lgain and use discipline specific technologies including database management software and web-located communication tools

Business Hours with weekends or evenings occasionally required

TravelRegular overnight travel is required (up to 25%)
